Holiday outfit and makeup tips and tricks

With the holidays around the corner, its time to put that gorgeous fancy dress, and swipe on that amazing lip stick you've been eyeing down.

This season I am loving the dark red and plum lip colours. Something classy, but with a little bit of edge.

A tip for applying dark lipstick: Try to get a lip liner that matches your stick, as well as keep a makeup wipe close by. Go slow around around the lip edges.

These two lip sticks are from MAC. I love them both, and I'm going to buy them ASAP for the holidays.

As well as makeup, dressing properly for the occasion is very important. I love sticking with black, red, and gold dresses for the holidays. These are E news top dress picks that I love! Hopefully they'll bring some inspiration for your holiday outfits.

Bound 3, bound to be a hit!

Last week, all everyone could talk about was Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Bound 2 music video. 

The naked shilloute of baby mama Kim mixed with Kanye's clothing choice made for a very interesting video. 

But Seth Rogen and James Franco made an even bigger impact with their Bound 3. 

I loved Kimye's first video. I thought she looked amazing, it was very different from the stereotypical music video. But Seth and James version had me laughing the entire time. 

Kim is such a fashion icon of mine, but seeing how she brushed this off made me love her even more.

Yesterday, my high school class mates and I lost another friend and school mate to depression. In the past year, two former class mates of mine took their life.

Today I wanted to write about this issue. I know this is a fashion blog, but this issue is more important. Feeling your best is a key factor to looking your best.  

If you ever feel that you are alone in the world, your not. Many people out there can help. I don't want anyone to tell that they are not loved in this crazy world. 

So please, if you ever need to talk about anything, I am always there for you. 

R.I.P David and Scott. You are both missed dearly by friends and family. 

Pass the toilet paper, please?

On Sept.25, 2013 it was the 10th anniversary of the Canadian White Cashmere Collection fashion show.

This is a fashion show like no other.  Twenty famous Canadian fashion designers put together a collection made out of toilet paper. This was a fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Supporters voted for their favourite outfits, and the toilet paper company Cashmere, will donate one dollar to the foundation.

The tag line for this event is:Designing a future without breast cancer.

What do you guys think about this event?
I think it's such a creative way to have fun, and awareness for breast cancer.

Fab Fur or Fail Fur?

So, I have been discussing the issue of faux fur with some of my girlfriends lately, since it is one of this season top trends. In the past few weeks I have been giving in to this trend, I recently bought a white fur vest, a white hat with a fur pom-pom, and a fur scarf. Of course these are all fake, I don't think I could get a fur scarf for 40 dollars from Indigo..

So we were talking about whether it is 'right' to wear faux fur. Even though it is faux, does it change the impression you are putting out there?

Personally, I love animals. I also love faux and real fur. So this is a constant battle for me. I only own one thing that is real fur, a pair of black and white mittens my grandparents gave me a few years ago.  I love it just as much as I love my faux fur, but I feel bad every time I put them on.

So what do you think about this faux fur controversy?

Nail the nails

Lately I've been researching nail polishes and what is in with this seasons looks.

I'm really liking plums, browns, and reds.

Last week I painted my nails purple with a gold highlight nail. This week I painted them a darker red.

Here are my tips for the perfect mani:

1. Soak your hand in warm soapy water
2. Push back the cuticles
3. Pluck any unwanted hang nails from around the edges
4. File to your preferred shape.
5. Apply base coat, two layers of your colour, then a top coat.

Heres my nails of the week, well of the day, I like to change mine up a lot!

Touques for dayss..

So today is Monday. And it was a rough day. I'm not going to lie, I didn't shower before I went to school. So I used the best quick trick to a bad hair day. A touque. Toque's are the perfect accessory for day hair days, and for the colder season! They can look amazing with a few quick steps!

1. If you have bangs like me, and your to lazy to fix them up, like me, then just pin them to the side.

2. Depending on your hair type, you can straighten the ends, or curl pieces, like I did today.

3. Hair spray like no tomorrow. Don't allow your bangs to come out of that bobby pin!

4. Put the hat on. If you are wearing a beanie, place on your head, tuck your ears under, and the beanie back a little, until you can see your hair line. If you are wearing a normal touque, just place it on your head however you prefer!

Halloween Style

Hey everyone,

So Halloween is coming. For me, it could easily be the best, or worst holiday. What makes the holiday for me is of course, the costumes. Over the years I have seen some pretty amazing costumes. I have also seen some pretty horrible costumes.

This year my boyfriend and I are going out to a party, and we are wanting to do something together. So I googled some options and I couldn't really find anything!

Lets talk colours

I am so in love with fall. I love everything about it. I love the smells, I love the clothes, I love the food, I love curling up under blankets, and I looove the gorgeous colours!

The browns, greens, oranges, and reds are such warm colours that just scream fall, and they all look amazing together.

I try to include at least one of these colours into on of my outfits everyday. I just feel so fashion forward.

Emmy Envy

Hello all!

So, this past week I've been sick.. So I would rather not discuss my personal do's and do's.. Because really, nothing was a do. But with the Emmys coming up soon I thought I would talk about some of my favourite red carpet outfits from previous Emmys.

Of course, Jennifer Aniston is on the top of my list. She is just flawless. She is the perfect example for dressing properly for her body type. But really, how can you dress that hot of a body wrong.

So is here the gorgeous Aniston wearing Chanel at the 2004 Emmys. He golden colour gown brings out her flawless skin, and her golden honey hair. It is so simple yet so elegant. She rocked it! 

Olivia Wilde is another one of my favourite fashion icons, and a great actress! She has such an amazing look. She can wear anything from rocker chic, to indie hippie. Her dark hair and eyes are such an assets to this brown bombshell! 

Here is Wilde in an amazing off white Reem Acra design at the 2008 Emmys. This dress fits her body perfectlly. It hugs her upper body perfect. And the off the shoulder beaded sleeves look amazing. She looks amazing. Definitely pooping on the red carpet.

Rainy Day Do's

Welcome to the do's and do's by yours truly, me! I thought today was the perfect day to start blogging about the do's and do's in the fashion world because of this lovely weather we are having. Today, if you have no yet been outside or looked out your window, it is cold, rainy, and grey. Today is the kind of day to stay home and cuddle under a million blankets. Especially being a Monday. But despite this depressing weather it is the perfect opportunity to pull out the fall wardrobe. And you know what that means ladies, big baggy over sized sweaters, scarfs, tights and boats. Only the comfiest clothes on days like today. 

Todays Do's and Do's is pure comfort. DO wear oversized sweaters instead of t-shirts, DO wear tights instead of jeans, DO wear comfy flats or toms instead of sandals, and DO have your hair up in a messy bun.

Ladies and Gentleman embrace this weather, even if it is a Monday. Embrace the comfort and the warmth of your fall cloths. Because I sure am!
